Dr. Wade frittered away the majority of his youth drinking and doing drugs with the subsequent consequences and then some.

He did indeed refuse to get older, but he grew up a bit. After being a single Dad for many years, when his son Cory went off to the University of Florida on an academic scholarship, Dr. Wade returned to college at forty-four.

Once unemployable, he now is three-time Florida Atlantic University alumni. Go Owls!
This has given Dr. Wade the unique perspective of someone who has been able to marry his vast life experience to his academic experience in a non-traditional context.

His remarkable story has been made even more so with caring for his late wife Helen through her battle with dementia. In 2019, he relocated to Gainesville to live closer to Cory and his daughter-in-law, Cathy.

It is here he again found love, when he least expected it, and recently married his pillar of strength Marcela, to make a formidable team.
